Due to the fast growth, our client who is a world leading manufacturer of engineering products for the Rail Industry is seeking 2 Technical Buyers to work within components, plastic, rubber and fabrication team. Responsibilities: Manage Material cost reduction Support development of sourcing strategies Build relationship with technical teams to support knowledge around commodities relating to quality and management risk Create and negotiate supplier agreements that maximise returns in terms of inventory levels, lead time, quality, material cost and delivery performance Manage commercial relationship with suppliers in line with sourcing strategy Responsibility for system integrity (MRP/ ERP) for the rubber, plastic component purchasing profolio. Key Skills/Core Responsibility MCIPS Qualified (or working towards) Purchasing experience - ideally within Rubber/Plastic Cost analysis and supplier negotiation MS Office SAP System Experience Ability to read engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written skills in addition to strong negotiation skills built up in a previous negotiating role. You will be strong and assertive and will possess a natural aptitude for creative problem solving.
