New Job Workshop Operative - 5122NH Industry: Engineering Job Type: Permanent Location: Scunthorpe, England Salary: DOE Reporting to the Workshop Team Leader, you will be responsible for the assembly of semi-technical and semi-complex hardware across a variety of products. You are therefore required to have excellent assembly skills consisting of a good basic knowledge of mechanical and wiring fitment with an ability to read and understand basic mechanical and wiring diagrams, a solid technical background acquired through previous qualifications and experience would be advantageous. As a Workshop Operative you are expected to be flexible in your approach to learning and gaining the ability to build all semi-technical products by moving around the assembly benches set up to build such products. You may be called on to work additional hours or to aid in areas that are outside the Workshop Operatives area of responsibility to meet business demands and this will stand you in good stead for career development. Key Responsibilities include; * Responsible for your own safety and that of others whilst working within any assembly area, any breach of health and safety must be reported to your immediate line manager. * Responsible for ensuring the tool set issued to you is kept in good condition and any losses or breakages reported immediately, any equipment belonging to specific assembly processes must be used correctly and any defects reported. * Quality of the work produced is paramount to the overall quality of the product and the perception given to our customers, Quality must always be at the forefront of any build. * Traceability and ownership of Items whilst building products lies with the individual completing the assembly task. This is a certification requirement and must always be carried out. * Ownership is the responsibility of all staff and this comes into force on the assembly lines where damages must be reported and recorded to ensure stocks are maintained correctly. * Housekeeping is everyones responsibility and as such must be taken seriously; clear desk policy is required on all assembly benches and areas of build to ensure high levels of cleanliness. * Performance is calculated by product types and therefore can be measured to reflect required outputs from an assembly task; it is the responsibility of the individual issued with these tasks to ensure they are completed within the given time and that all required documentation is completed.
