New Might I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. --- Philippians 4:13 The prophet Isaiah describes the very real and unequaled power of our Creator-God. He has no beginning or end. He never, ever tires. He is wise in ways far, far beyond human understanding (Isaiah 40:28). This is intellectually interesting, but what makes it personally wonderful is that this God not only HAS strength, He GIVES it --freely -- to us! While even youths, full of life, tire, and while young men at the peak of their powers will fall . . . They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint - Isaiah 40:31 Energized by our Lord, we can continue to move forward in courage, despite lifes obstacles. He graciously gives us strength and renews it daily by means of his forgiveness, promises, and presence. He gives this strength freely, and hes not stingy about it! Empowered, we soar! When we realize this and count on it, we will be surprised at what we can and will do to fulfill our lifes purpose in honor of the One who has given us new life . . . ETERNAL LIFE! Almighty Lord, I confess my sin of self-reliance. Teach me to rely on your gacious forgiveness through Jesus. Be my strength. In Jesus holy name we pray, AMEN.
