Emerge into the light; advance, be noticed; give and receive gifts; dawn of a new day. You cannot simply invigorate things. A Rising Sun. Accept this and use the energy of prospering. This means advancing. At the rising of the sun, everything on earth is pushed into sprouting. The root of Flourishing is the spirit that protects and animates the sun. Suns and kings or powerful figures are synonymous, so this is also a Rising Sun, the emergence of a powerful noble recognized at the center of power, the Royal Court.... He is the Powerful Prince, possibly a war leader who now turns to peace. Here he is the emblem of the good feudal lord, and his return signifies a return of peace and prosperity after the War of the Mandate. It also suggests the Sun Tree and the suns or jun-ravens who, bathed by their mother Xihe, fly each day to rest in the Moon Tree and return on the underworld river. These suns were seen as the Royal Ancestors who recognized and were received by their descendants through the bin-sacrifice or guesting. Flourishing. A Rising Sun. Joy and delight to the Prince of Kang. Gifts of horses that multiply in multitudes. In one day you are received three times. Emerge into the light; advance, be recognized; receive gifts, spread prosperity, the dawn of a new day; increase, progress; grow and flourish, as young plants in the sun; go forward, rise, be promoted, received in audience. Flourishing describes your situation in terms of emerging slowly and surely into the light of day. The way to deal with it is to give freely in order to help things grow and flourish. Be calm in your strength and poise. Take delight in things. Give gifts of strength and spirit to enhance those connected with you. You will be received by the higher powers three times in a single day. The hexagram figure shows light emerging from the covering Earth. Brightness issues forth above the Earth. The time has come to re-imagine the situation. Invigorating strength has carried you forward. This implies advancing, exerting yourself, furthering the development of things, stepping into the light. Use the force of this new light to brighten your own power to realize the Way. Prospering is a time to advance. Be yielding and join with others in order to brighten your own great idea. You set out but feel anxious and sorrowful. Dont worry. The Way is open. Take on this difficult task and receive the Queen Mothers blessing. Gather energy for a decisive new move. Six at Fifth: Flourishing. A Rising Sun. The cause for sorrow disappears. Letting go or acquiring, have no cares. Wise Words! Go on, the Way is open. There is nothing that is not advantageous. Harvesting. Go on, there will be rewards. All your sorrows will vanish. Let your sun shine on all. Dont worry about anything; simply give yourself to the work. The Way is open and the time is right. Everything will benefit from this endeavor. Do not be the victim and identify with the old. Proceed step by step. Gather energy for a decisive new move. ________________________________ #6 Dispute/Pleading/Council [Conflict] Arguing means there are no connections. Conflict, quarrels, arguments; plead your case before an authority; express what you feel; retreat from conflict, affirm loyalty; a lovers complaint. Eating and drinking at the shared meal necessarily brings out disputes. Resolve them. Accept this and use the energy of Arguing. With Dispute we enter the legal world of duties and laws designed to prevent personal conflict from becoming destructive of society, to establish loyalties and to create the union that enables people to use force collectively. Its root is words, a ritual announcement, a response from the Oracle. It means to express, speak, swear, give and take orders. It is language charged with meaning.... Arguing is all forms of accusation and complaint.... It means to seek justice, plead a case, a lovers complaint, quarrels between the lords that are judged by the prince.... Arguing also represents a council of war , and the ability to make war depends on the inner loyalties of the powers involved in the preparations. Connection to the spirits is necessary to any great endeavor, and dissension, conflict or disloyalty blocks it. Dispute. The connection to the spirits is blocked. Be wary. Wise Words! Staying in the center opens the Way. Completing the conflict closes the Way. Trap! Advantageous to see the Great People. Harvesting. Not advantageous to step into the Great Stream. Dispute describes your situation in terms of an argument. The way to deal with it is to clarify and actively express your viewpoint without trying to escalate the conflict. Act this way with confidence. You are linked to the spirits and they will carry you through. Present your case. Plead in court. Demand justice. Dont be afraid or intimidated. Be wary. Restrain your fear of authority. Dont give in, but dont exaggerate or get involved in petty wrangles. Staying in the center will generate meaning and good fortune by releasing transformative energy. It is advantageous to see Great People. Visit those who are important and can give you advice. Try to become aware of the real purpose behind your desire. This will bring profit and insight. Dont try to bring your plans to completion. You would be cut off from the spirits and left open to danger.
