New Pact for sure The man, Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade Akanji Oluwasina was born on the 31st of March 1967 at owode yewa, Yewa south local govt to Ahj Ajisafe and Alhaja bintu Amope Akinlade, both are traders, with his dad popularly known as Baba Onipako, a devout Muslim, who inculcated into the virtues of faith in God, hardwork, determination, honesty and discipline early in his life. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND Akinlade began his elementary education at st. Paul Anglican Primary School, owode yewa proceeded to Area Community High School, owode yewa, and later to Community High School, Alapoti for his secondary education. He gained admission to The Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1986 to study Accountancy and passed out in 1991 with a Higher National Diploma Certificate. In 2000, he was admitted into University of Ado Ekiti and by 2002, passed out with a Master degree in Business Administration(MBA). In December 2012, Akinlade was awarded honorary Doctorate degree in Management by Universite des Sciencies et Management, port Novo, Republic du Benin. WORKING EXPERIENCE Young Akinlades working life started in 1993 when he was appointed as an Account Officer in Automania Nigeria Limited, the firm that pioneered auto fair in Nigeria. He rose to the post of General Manager of the company in the year 2000 and resigned in the year 2002 to pursue his interest in politics. POLITICAL CAREER Akinlade was never forced to politics by chance or biological background, but venture into politics because of his deep inner desire and passion for good governance and total emancipation of humanity, born out of various agitations and struggles he has participated as a student union activist while in school. He was one time, executive of the Student Union Government of his school as the Treasurer. In 1999 with five other like minded young men, team up to establish the Yewa Awori Youths Agenda Forum(YAYAF) which became a rallying point for young activists who were concerned with the development of their senatorial district. In 2001, even as a young man of about 34yrs, Akinlade was part of the delegation of Yewa Awori leaders who met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo to discuss the issue of Ogun west for governor and other peculiar development challenges confronting Yewa Awori people. Akinlade formally join active politics in 2001 after the visit to Aso rock and got elected in 2003 at 36yrs as one of the youngest member in the House of Representative to represent Ipokia/Yewa south federal constituency under the platform of PDP. He was re-elected in 2007 and again in 2011 making him one of the longest serving member of the House in south west and the most ranking member in the House under PDP from south west. He is currently the Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology. ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR Akinlade has done excellently well in the area of his primary constitutional functions as a legislature, in terms of motions, bills, resolutions and his oversight functions, which was still evidence with his resent presentation of about Six bills and resolutions on the floor of the House. Apart from doing well in his primary constitutional functions, he has not fail in his secondary function of bringing dividend of democracy back home to his constituency, Namely: he has facilitated more than 80 project to his constituency in terms of solar streetlight, blocks of classroom, bole holes, public toilets, health centres, electrification of rural areas. etc which every other members are use to, but went further to become a distinctive member among his contemporaries. 1. In the history of ogun state, no National assembly member has ever single handedly facilitated employment for over 450 youths at the federal level and still counting. 2. The amiable lawmaker has attracted four federal government agencies namely: Biotechnology Centre, NASENI Reverse Engineering, National Board of Incubation Centre and Agro-Processing Unit of FIIRO. 3. Akinlade Free ICT training Centres, trained over 600 people at the centres. 4. Facilitate well equipped ICT centres in OOU aiyetoro, TASUED, MAPOLY, Fedpoly ilaro and some secondary schools. 5. Well equipped ICT centres in army barracks Alamala and owode yewa barracks. 6. Well equipped ICT centres in Recreation centre, ilaro and Abeokuta sport club. 7. A very big muiltipurpose hall of 1500 capacity at Fedpoly, Ilaro. 8. Donated, computers and vocational equipment, generators, foodstuffs and bedding material to Nigeria Prison Service and Future generation Orphanage both in ilaro. 9. Currently building a Vocational and skills acquisition centre at Agosasa. AWARDs and RECOGNITIONS Most effective and most proactive member 2009 by AIT. Outstanding IT Support Personality by Nig Competer Society. He is currently seeking to become the Governor of Ogun State by May 2015. His manifesto is tagged New Pact with Ogun people.
