New Peoria & Bloomington-Normal Daily Schedule times press release: Peoria Charter Coach has adjusted their Daily Schedule times between Peoria, Normal and both Chicago Airports. The bus will now better match the Amtrak Trains departure and arrival times at the Normal Uptown Station. In Peoria, passengers can board at the Bradley Student Center, Downtown CityLink Transit Center or Peoria Charter Plaza on Adams Street. All coaches are equipped with free WIFI. Free parking is available at Peoria Charter Plaza. Riders from Normal and Peoria will experience faster times and less stops to O’Hare International Airport and Midway International Airport. Amtrak Schedule Connection “As the largest metropolitan area in the state without direct rail access to Chicago, Peoria deserves an easy connection to the beautiful new facilities in Normal. We are prepared to fill that need,” said Jake Winkler, Account Executive for Peoria Charter and the forth generation in this family-owned business. The new bus shuttle times will give the Peoria area easy access to the morning trains going to Chicago and St. Louis. With funding for high-speed rail in place, rail service demand will continue to grow in Central Illinois. Winkler also stated, “Since my Great-Grandfather founded Peoria Charter in 1941, we have sought to offer convenient and comfortable transportation for the people of Central Illinois. These changes should reflect our commitment to meet the changing needs for transportation in our area, and willingness to provide our area a way to leave a smaller carbon footprint while traveling.” The estimated $45.6 million dollar Normal Uptown Station facility provides comfortable waiting areas, food, and employees that are happy to assist travelers. The bus drops off just a few steps from the train loading area. Tickets on the Peoria Charter shuttle are not yet available on the Amtrak website, but they can be purchased on the Peoria Charter website, over the phone, from the driver or at Uptown Station Ticketing. Chicago Airport Connection After stopping in Normal, passengers will now experience direct service to O’Hare International Airport. Buses on this daily schedule will no longer be stopping at Pontiac or Joliet. The new times reflect a faster ride with less risk of delays from traffic. “The train in Normal is great for many different scenarios, but you cannot beat our service to the Chicago Airports. We have no transfers, no airport parking fees, and no battling holiday traffic,” says Winkler. The Peoria Charter picks up in Peoria and Normal then drops you off at the airport doors four times a day.
