मेरे द्वार खड़ा एक जोगी ! Concluding part to the post on October 12, 2013! That is when a very old man, in white clothes and beard, who was passing by the lawyer’s house, came to the lawyer and asked him, “My friend, you look very anxious, is there a problem?” The lawyer told him about his client and his current predicament. The old man requested the lawyer to let him in and see the person, to which the lawyer obliged. The old man went to the sofa where my friend was lying and told the lawyer and his wife not to worry. The old man put his finger on his tongue and applied the saliva on my friend’s feet. He told the lawyer and his wife, that my friend will wake up soon and left. A few minutes later, my friend got up and smiled at the lawyer and his wife saying he was feeling better and was ready to drive to Bangalore! Sometime later, he asked his friend if someone had come to treat him. That was the time the lawyer and his wife thought about the old man who came inside. Till then they were not even aware that someone had come and treated the client, I guess, because of the overwhelming situation. Then they all rushed out to see if the old man was in the vicinity. He was nowhere to be seen! A few minutes later, the doctor arrived, checked up my friend for any clues about the mysterious illness and ruled out any problems! He said that it was merely a problem of exhaustion and tiredness. He also debunked the old man’s super natural powers. With great difficulty, the lawyer and his wife convinced my friend not to leave for Bangalore that night and agreed to let him go the next morning. Next day, my friend drove back to Bangalore and the trip was uneventful! Many years ago, my friend’s father had invested some money in a large cancer hospital and he was one of the key shareholders. Upon his demise, my friend inherited the shares and now he was a prominent member on the board. Obviously, he wanted to get himself checked at the Cancer Hospital and one of the reputed specialists made a thorough check on my friend. What they discovered was not funny! There was a tumor in the brain and it had to be removed immediately and that surgery could be done only in Mumbai! Within minutes all the logistics were arranged and he was in Mumbai, within hours. When the doctors in Mumbai checked up my friend they could not believe how any person could be alive with such a near-fatal tumor. He was operated upon and the operation was successful. He was put on medication and after a few weeks sent back to Bangalore for rest and recovery. My friend firmly believes that the old man who came to his lawyer friend’s house was indeed Shirdi Sai Baba. He says that he would have been dead when he fell unconscious the third time around. Had the old man not touched his feet with his saliva, he would not have lived to tell the tale! He believes in this since the temple he visited was Shirdi along with his lawyer friend. Soon after he came back from Mumbai, he became an ardent devotee or Shirdi Sai Baba. He is now married and lives with his wife and son in the same farm house, IN BANGALORE! I saw the beautiful idol of Shirdi Sai Baba in a Mantap and that was decked with flowers and kept inside the main house. All the footwear were neatly piled up outside the main house. This incident is very dear to me not only because it happened to a close friend of mine, but also because of how this friend had an “encounter” with a saint similar to that of my dear father. This actually is the Vijaya Dashami, victory of good over evil (Frustration, uncertainty, health issues)…. I sincerely and profusely thank each one of you for your patience and interest in following this post. Chidananda Rupah Shivoham Shivoham Phanibhushan Sharma
