New Private Water Supply Guidelines come into effect 1 Sept 2014. Requirements mean that businesses providing drinking water to customers as part of a commercial venture need to develop and adhere to a ‘Quality Assurance Program’ (QAP). Many outdoor recreation centres and camps, caravan parks, school camps, tourist attractions that rely on private water supplies ie groundwater, surface water (river, creek, dam) and rainwater, are called ‘private water suppliers’ and need to comply with the new Private Water Supply Guidelines.
