New Rant! And would you believe that support for Fine Gael and Labour is up in a poll published today. After all the revelations of top-ups for managers and Senior consultants. It is such a sad country at the moment....... No hope unless you are one of the rich elite and their cronies the politicians. We have made a complete mess of the country by our inaction and our support for the political system as it now stands. It needs a radical overhaul but do we have the courage of the Volunteers who were ready to risk all for freedom? We really need to start all over again and to stand up to our new lords and masters in the EU, the Bondholders, the Bankers and our own Traitors who couldnt care less about their own people as long as they are in with the big boys and girls and lining their own pockets. I almost despair when I think of our young people and the legacy and debt they are facing. It is not surprising that suicide is so widespread. When I was young in the sixties we were poor but we were all in it together and we had great hope for the future. Our present leaders were young then too and I remember some of them as very idealistic. Surely we can get some of that idealism back and develop a system that is fair, Gaelic in the best sense and inclusive of all who now live on this island and those who have had no choice but to emigrate. Is it beyond us to take control of our own resources and to produce a New Order that gives a fair income to all who work, that supports the young and the old and those who cannot work for whatever reason. We dont need to have so many layers of management upon management and there should be a minimum and a maximum wage with incentives for those who want to do more. Service could be encouraged and our politicians would be paid the same level of wage as all other workers. The same goes for all professionals who would do an honest days work for an honest days wage, though they could be rewarded for their expertise if this was to the betterment of society. Bankers are also in the service industry and should be paid on a par with other services. They should have to compete for business and return accounts like everybody else. Now I know this is all very naive but there are minds better than mine who could surely work out a New Future for our country. Patriotism today is just as necessary as it was one hundred years ago.
