Dangerous surf conditions in the north, easing Weather Situation A large, strong high pressure system over Victoria is directing a southerly airflow over the northern NSW coast. The high will be the dominant feature in the region for the early part of the new week, moving into the Tasman Sea today then slowly further east tomorrow, and maintaining a ridge across much of New South Wales. The next trough system to affect NSW should reach the west of the state on Wednesday, then cross the east on Thursday, with associated rain and isolated thunderstorms.
