New State Forming - "State of Jefferson"! Siskiyou County Secession from California? Yesterday, the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors voted 4 to 1 to send a "Declaration (of Independence)*" to the State of California requesting the California Legislature to allow Siskiyou County to be removed from California. pienpolitics/ Here is the Declaration: jeffersondeclaration.net/?page_id=19 * "Declaration (of Independence)" is the buzz locally, but really, it is a "Declaration" that we are tired of the crap from Sacramento, let us alone... we wish to form a new state, and regulate ourselves. Camera crews are in Yreka - the County seat of Siskiyou County. (I saw one today.0 Outreach is now underway for other Northern California counties to join. I hope it is a peaceful process, as the Constitution allows this two step process. 1. State Legislature approves. 2. Congress approves. The new area becomes a state.
