New USO Community Chest happens Jan. 22! The USO Community Chest program provides active-duty and military families an opportunity to select various donated household items supported by Costcos generous merchandise donations. USO San Diegos Community Chest is a great supplementary resource to stock up on everyday essentials and fun extras/non-essentials. USO San Diego is dedicated to providing the best quality, like-new, merchandise to our military. Although donations change monthly, USO San Diego consistently provides essential household items such as diapers, wipes, cleaning supplies, and health & beauty products. In addition to our rotation of smaller merchandise, service members and military families are able to choose from an array of larger items. At times, these larger donations can include sporting equipment, inflatable mattresses, home furnishings, car seats, small appliances, and luggage. For Participants The Community Chest program occurs every 3rd Thursday of the month, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m at our Downtown Center (303 A Street). Depending on donations, each household will select 1-2 large items and/or 3-4 smaller items. Our center opens at 11 a.m., however, service numbers (tickets) for Community Chest will not be issued until 1 p.m from the centers front desk. No line will be formed for this program. While you are waiting for your number to be called, please make yourself at home. The cafe will be open and our center has couches available. There are no forms required to participate in this program, only a valid military I.D. Please bring your own bags.
