New Year Adventure!! Members of the 2nd East London and Docklands ESU welcomed in the New Year with a week of skiing in the Czech Republic. Many of the Scouts left the UK with no idea how to ski, yet had managed to gain enough confidence in their new skills to complete a Red slope by the end of the week and earn their Snow Sports Activity badges. An amazing achievement!! The younger members of our District team, Docklands ESU (and their DESC Alan Hands) enjoyed their week on the slopes as well and some Explorers even got to learn how to snowboard while away. DESU were steadfast in the support of the Scouts as they progressed up the mountain and showed fantastic leadership and morale when needed. Some great examples of Young Leaders in action!! With new skills learned, an understanding of a different culture, new languages and different peoples, our young people really did have an amazing New Year Adventure and a great start to 2015!! #NYAdventure
