They often operate in rural areas, hiding from public view and often try to masquerade as responsible breeders. The dogs are overbred and kept in horrible conditions. One might ask how these facilities manage to stay in business. Supply And Demand Keeps Them In Business What keeps a puppy mill in operation is quite simply supply and demand. No matter how hard people fight to pass anti-puppy mill laws, the offenders will always find a way to hide. Puppies are often sold to pet stores through third party brokers, but in recent years puppy mill operators have cut out the middlemen and sell directly online. We Are The Ones Who Can Make A Difference We are the ones who can make a difference. If puppy mills can’t sell puppies then they have no point staying in business. By spreading awareness we can gradually make a difference. Make a point to adopt your next dog from a shelter or rescue group.
