New Years Eve Eve 2014 I must confess that I am ready for this - TopicsExpress

New Years Eve Eve 2014 I must confess that I am ready for this year to be over. It has not been an easy one physically or mentally~emotionally for me. One thing I have learned is that impermanence can be a friend as well as a foe. There are times when you just want to get through something and move on. Often it is in times when normalcy is lacking, when things seem askew and not quite in balance. We choose how to react to this and, in so doing, have a hand in the creative process. I feel much more attuned to impermanence than I have in the past. Things are constantly changing around us. Some we have control over others just seem to float on through and somehow we survive despite ourselves. We can learn to live with impermanence and, though never truly becoming good friends, learn much from the experience. Every moment in our lives is a creation, in some measure, of the choices we have made days, months, years, decades ago. Our experiencing never ends. Karma is ever keeping a watchful eye upon the comings and goings. I find myself paying closer attention to the changes but sometimes need to be nudged into the present moment. It is interesting how, when I do manage to be in the now, I have a very clear view of the world around me, letting things be what they are, and not something I wish was somehow different, changes everything. Just let go and let be may seem a quaint phrase but it is quite enlightening too. And when one does give up the sense of having power you realize that you still do but in a calm, reflective and peaceful way. I am not sad to see 2014 go by the way, still I do thank it for the lessons taught and hopefully learned. It has been an amazing year of personal growth but, perhaps because of that, not an easy year. Blessings come in many forms and sometimes from very unexpected places so always be receptive and grateful. A positive thing I am left with from 14 is an unbeknownst kind word my dentist said, while in another room, to the dental tech: ... be good to him, hes a nice guy.
