New Year’s Resolution: Organizing Your Digital Photos (TIP #5 - TopicsExpress

New Year’s Resolution: Organizing Your Digital Photos (TIP #5 FINALE) The final step involves creating a folder file structure if you haven’t already done so. Some programs like Picasa (available free online from Google) will automatically organize your images based on the metadata from the images. So images will be grouped according to the dates they were taken. To start right with 2014s pictures, make sure to set up folders so that you a ‘landing place’ the next time you empty your memory card. We suggest creating a 2014 master folder with folders for each month, or week if you shoot a lot! You can also create folders for specific events (reunions, etc) within the master 2014 folder structure but make sure you actually do this when the time comes to transfer the photos. Dont let yourself be lazy & just load them all into a main folder! After this process, your hard drive will be rid of unwanted photos and your best images won’t be hidden by random shots that take up time and space. You’ll be kicking off the first month of this New Year all organized and ready to capture the best 2014 has to offer! Now if youre feeling ambitious, you can work backwards on past years photos to organize those in a similar method. But first, enjoy your success and be proud of your hard work! Pick a few favorite photos to print and frame, or better yet, turn them into a gorgeous canvas or metal print. Well help you make them into something meaningful here at Horn Photo.
