New Zealand, Northland, Auckland Airport, Auckland Description: Lunchtime disruption at Auckland Airport, thanks to a Qantas aircraft with brake issues. The Boeing 737 arrived from Sydney, but experienced the problems when it was taxiing off the runway. An Auckland Airport spokesperson says the plane was stopped on the taxiway, but for safety reasons they made the decision to close the runway until it could be moved. It has now been removed and operations are resuming. So far, one flight has been delayed, another cancelled, and six diverted to Christchurch and Wellington airports and Ohakea air force base. A photograph posted by Twitter user Hayden Davison shows the plane surrounded by vehicles in the middle of the taxiway.
