New Zealand`s trade surplus below estimates in . . . . . . . . . . . . . . New Zealand`s trade balance surplus came below estimates in April, having both exports and imports picking up in a slower pace. This came along with a slowing economic performance in China, New Zealand`s first trade partner; however, the released figures remain positive for New Zealand`s policy makers. New Zealand`s trade balance recorded a surplus of NZ$ 534 million compared with a previous surplus of NZ$ 920 million that was revised to NZ$ 935 million, while analysts` estimates referred to a surplus of NZ$ 634 million. As for exports, it logged NZ$ 4.50 billion last month from a previous NZ$ 5.08 billion that was revised higher to NZ$ 5.06 billion, while the reading missed market forecasts of NZ$ 4.64 billion. Imports in New Zealand also picked up to record NZ$ 3.69 billion from NZ$4.16 billion that was revised to NZ$ 4.13, while market estimates referred to NZ$ 4.00 billion. #egyptyard
