New book review: I bought this book for my 11 year-old niece and I thought I had better read it first to be sure that it was “age appropriate”. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the book. First, I am not much of a romance novel fan and I am certainly not a science fiction fan, so I entered the venture with two strikes against liking the book. Wow, what a pleasant surprise to find myself reading late into the night to find out just how Ryen and Savannah were going to save their collective worlds. Not since I was introduced to Ayn Rands’s Dagny Taggart have I come across a heroine as compelling, capable and fearless as Savannah. The author did a superb job of creating a story that fell sufficiently outside the standard novel formulas that it maintained a good pace and kept my interest to the last page. Well done.
