New ice is forming. In the Bay of Bothnia, there is in the northern part 15-30 cm thick fast ice in the archipelago. Off the fast ice edge there is thin ice and new ice approximately to Kemi 1. In the southern part of the Bay of Bothnia, thin level ice and new ice in the archipelago. In the Quark, thin level ice in the archipelago. In the Sea of Bothnia thin ice in places in the inner archipelago. in Gulf of Finland thin ice in the inner archipelago. In the Gulf of Vyborg and the Gulf of St Petersburg there is 10-20 cm thick level ice and new ice. In Lake Saimaa and in the Saimaa Canal, 5-20 cm thick ice, new ice and in places open water. Icebreakers: Kontio assists in the Bay of Bothnia. Meteor and Protector assist in the northern and central Lake Saimaa. Iso-Pukki assists in the Saimaa Canal and southern Lake Saimaa. Otso is heading for the Bay of Bothnia. Restrictions to navigation: Minimum ice class and deadweight required of assisted vessels: Tornio, Kemi, Oulu, Raahe and Rahja, IA and IB more than 2000 tons and IC and II of more than 3000 tons. Kokkola, Pietarsaari and Vaasa, I and II of more than 2000 tons. Saimaa and Saimaa Canal, II of more than 2000 tons. Alterations to the restrictions: Minimum ice class and deadweight required of assisted vessels from 14th January: Tornio, Kemi and Oulu, IA and IB of more than 2000 tons. Kokkola, Pietarsaari and Vaasa, IA and IB of more than 2000 tons and IC and II of more than 3000 tons. Loviisa, Kotka and Hamina, I and II of more than 2000 tons.
