New life experience today. I rode a camel and then I cuddled a camel :) (Yes, there is video.) Went to the State Fair this morning. Ate a so-so burger and an outstanding ear of roasted corn. (Bought scones and a chocolate chip cookie to eat later). Had goop rubbed on my arm by a salesperson and avoided making eye contact with other vendors because Im just not good at saying no. Saw goats, draft horses, chickens and baby pigs!! (I love looking at the piglets.) And at the end, saw the Camel ride and just HAD to do it. My camels name was Matthew and he was a sweetie. Getting on Matthew was pretty easy - getting off Matthew was a bit like being one of the Keystone Cops. I thanked him for the smooth ride and as I was getting ready to go down the stairs, he swung his head around and kind of cuddled into my mid-section. Im always up for a cuddle, so I rubbed his head, scratched behind his ears and told him what a sweet, wonderful camel he was. I also dodged a camel kiss. I had to quit cuddling him because I think I was putting him to sleep. Wonderful, wonderful experience!! Im home now - a bit sore from all the walking and a bit over-heated, but a happy camel cuddler.
