New mall low today......I was up until 6am with shoulder and neck pain. No idea what I did. This morning I ventured out to the Relax massage carpeted booth in the center of the mall. Just to get a price, see if I needed cash, and try to explain my ailment. The gentleman took my elbow and tried to steer me to a cushioned seat. I tried to disengage and pointed to my store to explain I was working and just stopping by. I would return at 1:30pm. I went back to the store and in a few minutes looked up and he ( dressed in all black ninja style) was standing in front of the store blank faced staring in at me. Highly uncomfortable. At 1:30 pm because I am not a liar, I returned. He was waiting. I have avoided the carpeted area because I felt like having a big denim clad butt splayed out to mall shoppers was undignified and I would have trouble relaxing. Turns out, I was correct. Our ability to communicate was extremely limited so I had no idea for what increment of time I would be confined in the chair. I just went with it. I was splayed out, my face stuck to a dry paper towel, and I swear I could hear carnival music playing softly. I now know what the Elephant Man felt. I could feel people watching and eating peanuts whispering Monster! When I received the thigh massage from behind I know I heard the Sprint guys snickering. I am glad I have excellent insurance, because I am in need of a counselor. It was painful and I worked out a plan to reach my cell phone from my handbag with my toes if I needed to call for help. Smiles, head nodding, and money were exchanged. I pulled the paper towel off my face and limped away. Time will tell on the prognosis. Stay tuned......The mall is a wonderland.
