New partner for Rio moving in tomorrow. I know to some it will seem too soon. Ive never been one to punish myself forever though. With Caylin being older now and us being unable to share one horse anymore and wanting to trail ride together this summer, I realize we need two horses. This opportunity came up and I jumped on it. Also poor Rio is NOT happy alone. Getting another horse isnt brushing Rains memory off, I actually look at it is a tribute to her in a way. Its another Paint retired broodmare (just like Rain when I bought her) and she is also related to Rain. They both go back to the famous Stallion Hank-A-Chief. The new girl is same height as Rain was before age shrunk her (so I should be able to get on ;) , yet is a huge big beasty bodied girl who will be able to stand up to Rio and hopefully will be boss mare. Wayne is actually ok with it and said he would put an another partition on the shed in spring. The one we have is plenty big enough, but would be nice to be able to lock one in or out as needed. Other pluses are this girl requires no extra care (pricey feeding), she is very sweet, friendly and is a beauty. Im allowing myself to be excited. Thank you Lisa. You are helping heal the hole in my heart.
