What a ride this book was! Janet and Chris Morris have made a stellar story full of all things good.- a most excellent plot that keeps you on your toes and makes you think long and hard; characters that are believable and you can sink your teeth into; issues of morality that have no clear cut answers. I have had to add Det to my list of book boyfriends- my very first one from this genre. But no matter the genre, Det has the one thing going for him that I have no strength to refuse- he is a hero. He makes the hard choices and gets him and his friends through it. I was concerned when I started it that the space language and military jargon would bog me down (the reason I dont usually read these books) but it is written so well that it is very understandable. This book went by so much faster than I thought it would, it surprised me with how much I loved it. Janet and Chris Morris write with some unidentifiable magic that pulls the readers in and makes them feel like they are right there in the action. Dare I hope for a follow up book? Gotta say, there is not much out there that could make me happier than if there was one. I honestly dont know why more people have not read this book.
