New sanitarian entry level job: "The WI Department of Health Services has a new position available that may be of interest to you or people you know. The position is for a Public Health Sanitarian. This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies in the following counties: Walworth County, Columbia County and Kewaunee County while under supervision from Madison, WI. These positions will be filled at the entry or senior level based on the qualifications of the selected candidates. Under the general supervision, this position has sole responsibility for conducting inspections of food service, lodging, vending, swimming, camping, recreational-educational camp, tattoo, and body piercing facilities using applicable health and safety statutes and administrative codes. This position will improve the public health and safety of patrons utilizing these facilities as well as members of the public that are indirectly exposed to environmental conditions resulting from the operation of these facilities. This position will provide environmental and public health consultation and training services to operators of these facilities, potential operators, agents, local and state officials, architects, engineers, organizations, and the general public. This position will represent the state at the local level and will participate in improving the quality of service to the public. This position will act as a liaison between public contacts and state agencies. This position will coordinate and conduct epidemiological investigations of reported suspected food, air, and waterborne outbreaks. This position will make recommendations to the unit supervisor for revision of administrative codes and policies, and participate in the development of statewide meetings. Special Requirement: Applicant must hold a Wisconsin Registered Sanitarian license or be eligible to obtain registration as a Public Health Sanitarian after appointment. (Registration requires a four year degree from an accredited college or university. Well qualified candidates will possess a four year degree in a science discipline.)
