New typhoon coming soon. Bye Glenda, hello Henry? As of 4:00 pm on Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that the new low pressure area earlier spotted near Mindanao had intensified into a tropical depression. It is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 990 km east of Northern Mindanao. Its packing maximum winds of 45 kph and is forecast to remain almost stationary. PAGASA added: This will not yet affect any part of the country. However, the general public and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are advised to be alert and to monitor for the updates to be incorporated in the public weather forecasts on Friday, July 18. The weather disturbance is expected to enter PAR within 24 hours. Once it enters PAR, it will be called Henry.
