Newberry Township supervisors approve intergovernmental agreement to address stormwater management Newberry Township will join forces with roughly 46 other York County municipalities to address state-required stormwater management in their communities. Newberry Township supervisors on Tuesday adopted an ordinance approving an intergovernmental agreement with other York County municipalities for implementation of the York County Regional Chesapeake Bay Pollutant Reduction Plan. The regional plan, which was spearheaded by the York County Planning Commission, will allow the communities to work together to address stormwater management and receive credit for pollution control projects implemented by the other municipalities that have opted into the cooperative agreement. Each municipality will make a formula based financial contribution to the group. Newberry will contribute $28,000 over five years. Some tentative stormwater programs are being considered, said Township Manager Don Keener before the meeting.
