Newly appointed Chairman of Fannie Mae, Egbert Perry, delivered the keynote address at the official launch of the inaugural Saint Lucia Investment Forum on Sunday. Perry who is an Antiguan was appointed Chairman of the US Government-backed mortgage provider, effective March 31, 2014. Close to 100 investors and chief executives are here in Saint Lucia for the Forum, which runs from May 4th-6th It is being hosted by Invest Saint Lucia (ISL) in collaboration with the Government of Saint Lucia; and the Private Sector Council and will seek to underscore Saint Lucia’s position as an investment destination of choice. Perry touted the advantages of public/private sector partnerships. According to INVEST Saint Lucia, the island is a relatively unknown jurisdiction for Foreign Direct Investment among high net worth international investors. Therefore, the agency through the promotion of specific projects and investment opportunities is seeking to put Saint Lucia on the FDI map. The agenda for the forum will also feature targeted sessions and networking opportunities in a number of sectors.
