to ALL of my Japanese friends who are looking to become flight - TopicsExpress

to ALL of my Japanese friends who are looking to become flight attendants/CAs, PLEASE read this! First of all, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! Study up on some aviation, avionics, aeronautical science, and research the aviation industry and about different airlines. The reason of I want to travel the world will give you an automatic FAIL. 2) Please note its against international, and JAPANESE labor laws to reject a person for work if they are indeed qualified for that job, based off of age, and appearance, unless its a special condition such as modeling. And being a CA is not being a model. If you feel youre gonna be rejected for looks, then lawyer up. Plain and simple. 3) Do NOT, by any circumstances, consider working for JAL. Their rules are pretty damn 1980s and only certain people will be accepted as CAs. They are also struggling fiscally. 4) International companies require a LOT of English. Study up! 5) Being a flight attendant is not all its cracked up to be. Long, excessive hours, away from your family. In Japan, you may be forced to quit by your company if you get married and have a kid. In these economic conditions, that is the LAST thing you want to do, especially if you plan on sending your children to college in the next 20 years. 6) Please highly consider looking into other jobs at the airline (including being a pilot, as pilots are in extreme demand recently) before thinking about being a CA. :D hope you enjoyed a little of my expertise into the airline industry. Good luck, ladies!
