News • Announcement • News Lags and Login Queue Updates (August 30, 2013) Posted on 09/13/2013 by LoL PH Admin Greetings Summoners, We are pleased to inform you that the activation of the direct line for PLDT users is now on its way! For this to be implemented, we will be having a scheduled server downtime on September 5, 2013. Ranked Queues will be disabled at 3:30am, Servers will shutdown at 5:00am and is expected to be back at approximately 11:00am. This will give way for the setup and activation of the direct line connecting PLDT customers to League of Legends servers. As mentioned in our recent announcement (read: lol.garena.ph/news/updates-on-lag-and-login-queue-aug-23-2013), this is expected to solve the lags and disconnections for the part of PLDT users. During the maintenance, we will also increase the platform capacity limit — means waiting time at log-in queue will be reduced further. We will continue to monitor and observe the stability, as well as overall game connectivity and player experience after this new set up is applied. Once we have seen the new set up to be fully and consistently stable, then we will further increase the capacity limit until we reach a point where the log-in queue is fully lifted. We’d also like to inform the community that this direct line setup is the first time we will be using in our server-network configuration. The same goes for PLDT where they have recently approved and offered this only to Garena, so this is also the first time they have made such service available. That said, there are several unknowns here and we will remain cautious and methodical in our approach to transition towards this set up. At worst case scenario, we anticipate that we may encounter some unexpected issues along the way and hope for your understanding should we require subsequent emergency maintenance to tender any hiccups we will come across with. We will keep you posted for further updates regarding this matter. Update as of September 3, 2013 11:45am Time of server downtime and Rank Queues off have been changed. Ranked Queues will be disabled at 6:30am, Servers will shutdown at 8:00am and is expected to be back at approximately 11:00am. Update as of September 5, 2013 10:15am We are pleased to inform you that servers are now up! You should now be able to login. Update as of September 5, 2013 2:28pm As you all know, the new direct line setup for PLDT users is now implemented , and we’re still monitoring the said transition for possible issues. This is to inform you that as of the moment, some of you might still experience log-in queue during peak hours. This is because we are still waiting for the game developers to adjust the queue configuration which is expected to happen soon. We will announce any updates that we’ll get from the developers. We ask for your extended patience regarding this matter. Update as of September 13, 2013 5:40pm It’s been one week since we have implemented the new direct line setup for PLDT users, and we are happy to announce that the results have been positive so far. Most noticeable is the disappearance of the lag and disconnections that PLDT gamers experience during peak hours. Also, Summoners would feel there is decrease in log-in queue waiting time during peak hours since Monday. This is the result of our gradual increase of platform capacity over time. We are continuously monitoring the bandwidth utility on a day to day basis, and would keep on increasing the cap if no further issue arises. With that said, expect the log-in queue to diminish and soon be removed completely. As for the on-going lag issues experienced by Globe users, we are still actively engaged with both ePLDT and Globe, and we are making significant progress in exploring different options on tackling it. There is no definite timetable for this yet but rest assured that we will update the community as soon as we can.
