News! News!! News!!! You shouldn’t let the barriers get in your way if you want to get there, (Sir Alex Ferguson) The world renowned Manchester United retired coach and the Premier League’s most successful British Manager, Sir Alex Ferguson says he’s elated and kind-of admires Jose Mourinho’s outstanding accomplishment as football coach even though Jose may have not played the game at a higher level as most coaches today. The statement reported on GIVEMESPORT quotes Sir Ferguson advising whoever wishes to dream big, You shouldn’t let the barriers get in your way if you want to get there. Sir Ferguson’s remark will be aired on December 26, Boxing Day. He refers to the current Chelsea manager, Portuguese-born Jose Mourinho’s (a.k.a. Special One) success in his football managerial endeavor as one starting from a lowly interpreter for Bobby Robson and Louis van Gaal to one of the most outstanding football coaches of the world. Borrowing this unexpected commendation from a football mind about his former rival, I wish to urge the market noise over Liberias football king and now become politician, George Weah, you should not hastily write him off. You might as well be eating the cake before you have it. As Sir Ferguson says, a determined person is bound to succeed. Weah, a man from lowly beginning knows the pinch of the common Liberian. He is highly placed to be an example to other politicians who should know malfeasance is not an option in today’s Liberian political fabric. It is not impossible for Weah to change the general political mindset, “Chop I chop, to one that says, “Work, “We all work to success.” Sir Ferguson’s remarks that determination is key to success is a statement that we all can bank on to throw our support around the lowly senator-elect to change our mindset. If we sit too long, we’ll never improve our nation. We must all get up and do something for the common good of our country. It’s time, therefore, for all “Weahmites” or CDCians and all Liberians to lend support to the Liberian Football King’s adventure in reforming the political maladies of Liberian to one which respects, ‘The dignity of labor’.” Wasting precious time in endless argument and noisemaking in cafes, radio talk shows and social media is not the answer to Liberia’s predicament.
