***News Release- Stabbing*** Early this morning (July 25, 2014) at around 3:00 AM Utica Police officers responded to 911 Blandina Street, Utica in regards to a man with a gun. When police officers arrived they learned that the 911 call actually was a stabbing instead. It is alleged that a seventeen year old male got into an argument with his mothers boyfriend who stabbed him in the throat with an unknown sharp instrument. The suspect has been identified as Henry Gomez (age 23, 510 tall and approx. 180 pounds). Utica Police investigators are actively searching for the whereabouts of Gomez who fled the scene on foot, and is not currently in police custody. The public is asked to call the Utica Police Department at 315-223-3461 in the event that Gomez is seen. All phones will be kept confidential. Gomez should be considered armed and dangerous and the public should NOT attempt to approach or apprehend him. If seen call the Utica Police. Attached are two previous photographs of Gomez, whose appearance could possibly be altered or changed since when they were last taken. Gomez has a tattoo on the right side of his neck. The seventeen year old victim is in critical condition after sustaining a serious injury to his throat. **Note*** All details of the crime in this post are allegations, and arrestees are innocent until proven guilty.
