First phase of NIMP to gulp N166bn –FG - PUNCH The Federal Government on Monday disclosed that the first phase of the implementation of the National Integrated Master Plan which would cover between 2014 and 2018 would gulp the sum of N166bn. A statement from the Ministry of National Planning quoted the Minister and Deputy Chairman, National Planning Commission, Dr. Abubakar Sulaiman to have stated this in Abuja while featuring in a television program. The minister in the statement signed by his Special Assistant (Media), Mr. AbdulRahman AbdulRauf, said the private sector would provide 48 per cent funding for the project which amounts to N79.68bn while the public sector would finance the balance of N86.72bn representing fifty two percent. Dailytrust; 2014 job creation rises, records 7.1% increases- NBS The total new jobs created in Nigeria in second quarter 2014 was 259,353, National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) job creation result for quarter one and two 2014 revealed. The Statistician General Dr Yemi Kale while reading out the result of the survey yesterday at the opening of a workshop on the review of the definition and methodology for computing unemployment statistics in Nigeria said the recorded figure was an increase of 7.1 percent from the preceding quarter (240,871 new jobs) and also represents an increase relative to the corresponding quarter 2013 when a total of 221,054 jobs were created. He said the formal jobs created in quarter two of 2014 is was lower than the 80,412 jobs created in the corresponding quarter of 2013 but higher than the 76,018 jobs created in the preceding quarter of 2014.
