News Updates UGANDA MARTYRS CONGRESS: The Catholic Church has invited President Yoweri Museveni to attend the first ever Uganda martyrs congress which will be held at Lubaga Cathedral from October 17th to 18th. This will be the first ever Uganda Martyrs congress in Uganda. MEETING: A team of experts from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi are in Kampala for a two day meeting that began yesterday, aimed at coming up with a draft constitution of the East Africa political federation. RURAL WOMEN’S DAY: Today was the International Day of Rural Women, first observed on 15 October 2008. This day recognizes the critical role and contribution of rural women, in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security and eradicating rural poverty. IRAN NUCLEAR TALKS START: World powers and Iran have expressed cautious optimism at the start of their first nuclear talks since Hassan Rouhani became Irans president. A European Union spokesman said the Iranian team had put forward proposals at the start of two days of discussions in Geneva. Mr Rouhani, who was elected in August and is seen as a relative moderate, has said he wants a deal within six months.
