News from the Office of the Dean School of Liberal Arts & Sciences We are sad to inform you that Kay Capo, Associate Professor Emerita of Literature and Theatre and Performance, died Friday morning. She had been battling breast cancer since the spring of 2008. “Kay persevered, working hard to keep the cancer in check,” her husband, Jim, and son, Jamie, wrote. “She was determined to stay positive and beat the disease.” “We know that she remains with us in spirit, and her memory will bring out the best in all of us, encouraging us to live our lives with the same passion she always did.” Calling hours will be this Wednesday, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Chapel,180 W. 76th St., Manhattan, 212-362-6600. A brief memorial service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the chapel. Calling hours will also be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home in Marcellus, New York, near Syracuse, with a Funeral Mass Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in nearby Otisco, New York.
