News reports indicate that J.P. Morgan, in negotiation with the Department of Justice over a $13 billion penalty related to mortgage activities, wants to shift part of its penalty onto the same American taxpayers who bailed the company out in 2008. J.P. Morgans helped propel America into the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. It’s time for them to pay back the American public for their wrong-doing, not get another bailout.
