Next CI Sunday! - MARCH 9 (THIS Sunday!) Class 11-1pm Jam 2-4pm These sessions are open and designed for people interested in movement and improvisation either as beginners or those with more experience. Jo Blowers and Mary Prestidge currently lead and facilitate the class and jam. We welcome and support new and experienced musicians to join the afternoon jam. We have designed an hour’s lunch break between the class and the jam so if you intend to come only for the afternoon Jam it would be advisable to arrive a little earlier to warm up Cost: Class £6/4 Jam £4/2 Class & Jam £8/5 Contact Improvisation, invented by Steve Paxton and others in 1972, is essentially a duet dance form, sometimes referred to as an art/sport. It uses the physical laws of motion (weight, inertia, momentum and gravity) to explore the relationship between the dancers covering a spectrum of high energy and stillness and everything in between.
