Next Tuesday, November 5th, there will be an election held for several local offices and for the position of County Treasurer as well as New York State Supreme Court Justice. There will also be balloting on on 6 public referenda. Booklets outlining the referenda, which are regarding 6 amendments to the NYS Constitution on a variety of matters (Casino Gambling, State Forest Preserve Land Exchange, Increasing the Age Limit on the service of State Justices, etc.), are available in the Town Clerk’s Office in Town Hall. Polls are open in Middletown next week in three locations: Town Hall, the Arkville Fire Hall and the Fleischmanns Fire Hall, from 6 a.m. – 9 p.m. Sample ballots are available on the Delaware County Board of Elections webpage at the following address: co.delaware.ny.us/departments/elec/elec.htm or you can call 607-746-2315 for more information. Absentee ballot applications are available to download or print from that site as well, with a deadline of Monday, November 4th, as the last day to file.
