Next door are having the walls pumped full of cavity insulation more fools them ... Please people make informed decision when the energy sales men and women come a calling Do independent research into the construction of your property . Think before you stuff a cavity full plastic beads or similar. There are may ways to save energy . If your house is dry and you have had no damp issues following treatment keep a very close eye on it ! Ask questions like were does the moisture go if my cavity is stuffed full of crap! Now I am not saying it a bad thing because the treatment does benefit some properties what I am saying is know you property educate your self on the process . In my option the houses we are in do not require wall insulation , cost do not justify saving or the risk of moisture retention. Roof insulation yes. Window yes . End wall may be slightly justified . Please do not take the sales people word and yes thats all they are sales surveyors a lot that has knock on our door have no surveying qualifications at all . The last lady to try and sell it to us was very interesting indeed I felt a little cruel I invited her in have her a cup of tea listened then asked some technical questions . Asked her how long she had been a surveyor where she went to college for her then to reveal that actually she been doing the job for a year pervious to this she had been a Avon rep ! So people please be carefull with these so called surveyor now there are real professionals out there take their advice or ask a builder friend. Do the research before signing on the dotted line. Also put a jumper on and turn down the heating . How did our grandparent survive without all the insulation ! ...
