Next up in 1986: Frank Millers two biggest works, Dark Knight - TopicsExpress

Next up in 1986: Frank Millers two biggest works, Dark Knight Returns and Born Again. The first is a non-canon story about a 55 year old Bruce Wayne being retired, but being pulled back into crime fighting by the increase in crime. He faces off against the likes of Two-face, the Joker, a gang called the mutants, and a government hired Superman. I think its an ok story, but its too dark for me, and the fight with Superman was just weird. People use this all the time to say Batman can beat Supes, but a few things come with it: 1. Its non-canon. 2. Superman didnt want to fight, and mostly didnt. 3. Batman was not alone, Green Arrow helped him. 4. Batman had to fake a heart attack to get out of the fight. All in all, this just feels like fan-fiction that glorifies Batman to me. Id suggest Spider-Man Reign instead. The other story is about Daredevil, having to deal with Kingpin learning his secret identity from his old love, Karen Page, and his life is made a living hell. This one is better, so you should check this out. On an unrelated note, I just checked to see who else died in Spider-verse, and Spider-Man Reigns Spider-Man, the Mary Jane Spider-Man, a Spider-cyborg, the Spider-Man assassin who went with Wolverine in a What If?, and a Spider-Man who defeated villains with knock-off Twinkies (to not get sued) are dead. -Shazam
