This family-owned farm in Burkeville employs conservation-minded, sustainable farming methods. It was awarded the 2012 Conservation Farm of the Year by the Piedmont Soil and Water District. Crops are grown for its CSA members, who each receive a weekly or bi-weekly box of chemical-free vegetables, fruit and other farm fresh food. Row covers, manual removal and Certified Organic products control pests and disease. A High Tunnel extends the growing season. Waverly’s mission is to bring fresh, safe, delicious food to local families while also training the next generation of sustainable farmers.
