Nghipondoka in the dock Wednesday, 23 October 2013 19:37 FORMER Director of Education in Omusati Region, Anna Mwifi-Nghipondoka will hear her fate tomorrow (Friday, 25 October), after being hauled before Oshakati Magistrates’ court for common assault. Nghipondoka spent three days (14-16 October) in the dock answering charges of common assault laid by a teacher as a sequel of an incident that allegedly happened on 17 February 2012. The teacher was then serving under her. Mwifi-Nghipondoka pleaded not guilty to the charges read to her by Control Prosecutor Anna Adriaanse. The 27-year-old Tobias Dennis Nan-djigwa, a teacher at Oshikwiyu Combined School reported a case of assault to the police after he was allegedly physically attacked by Mwifi-Nghipondoka in front of about 600 dele-gates who attended the annual examination review meeting at Nuuyoma Secondary School in Oshikuku Constituency. Meanwhile, Nandjigwa is suing Mwifi-Nghipondoka and the Minister of Education for damages amounting to N$90 000 following the alleged conference saga. In his particulars of claim, Nandjigwa accused Mwifi-Nghipondoka of grabbing him by the neck and pulling him out of the chair in which he was sitting, pushing him to a nearby corridor, slapping him several times with an open hand on the back, hitting him with a newspaper against the head several times, and throwing the newspaper at him. As a result, Nandjigwa said he has experienced emotional pain and trauma amongst other damages he is claiming.
