Ngige/APC-the dead meat - I love politics but I hate politicians, - TopicsExpress

Ngige/APC-the dead meat - I love politics but I hate politicians, I love Nigeria but I hate the way politics is played in this country. A little before the elections I stated in clear terms my loath for Ngiges mannerisms during the election debate staged by channels television. His arrogance and sheer disrespect for his opponent whom he consistently and continuously called my younger brother put me off. Lovingly, my elder brother Ngiges younger brother took it in good faith - Ifeanyi Patrick Uba earned my love and respect till date. Elections result has been declared but unlike I posited in my last post the people of Anambra disappointed my analysis - my prophecy. Now I admit, I am not a good prophet, I am a lawyer - a lawyer argues and puts his points across, that was what I did - true or false my arguments will be tested by realities and how compelling and or convincing the evidence on ground becomes. In the case of Anambra I see things differently now, I admit I was wrong, I judged too quickly but now I know better. I have however reached a conclusion about Nigeria as a Nation and Nigerians as its people. Here is my drift - The merging of all those catalogues of political parties to form APC did not change the way igbos especially Anambrarians view it. They/we still consider APC a yoruba party, PDP a hausa party and APGA an igbo party- non is a Nigerian party. Thus at the end of the day Loyalty is with your kin and kits not to the nation. I just realized Nigeria is not a country of loyal men and women but a country where every1 thinks of himself 1st, his family, his people then the Nation which he sees only as a means to an end last. No wonder corruption is endemic. We are just a Nation on PAPER, our pledge has no impact on our personal lives, our Anthem is a collated letters of meaningless words, our flag is an irrelevant piece of mixed colours, our very existence as a Nation makes no sense to me. If the people of Anambra refused to vote APC but overwhelmingly voted APGA because it is the child brain of the revered Late Dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu - a man I love and respect with all my dignity, a man after my heart. I cant say I am not glad with what the Anambra people did, it was beautiful supporting your creed - but it spells doom for the Nation Nigeria, doooooooooooom
