Nicola Sturgeons promises IN an independent Scotland, an SNP Government would: * Increase carers allowance to £72.40 per week, the same as jobseekers allowance for those 25 or over * Re-establish link between benefits and cost of living, with benefits and tax credits rising each year by consumer prices index of inflation * Abolish the bedroom tax * Replace system of sanctions with one that is fairer * Abolish the current work capability assessment that decides whether the sick or disabled are able to work * Establish a National Convention on Social Security at the start of 2015
