Nigeria: Crashed Aircraft Manufactured in 1990, Says Associated Airline The Associated airline, Thursday, said that its ill fated Brazilian Embraer EMB 120 aircraft, which crashed at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, was manufactured in 1990. Taiwo Raji, Chief Operating Officer of the airline, also stated that the last maintenance work carried out on the plane was on June 14 and its last flight was on August 30. On Thursday morning, the chartered Flight 361, conveying the remains of the late Olusegun Agagu, the former Ondo State governor, to Akure plunged into the ground few minutes after take-off. "Of the 20 passengers that were on board, 13 have been confirmed dead, while there are seven survivors," Mr. Raji said. "Of the seven survivors, five of them are at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. One of them is at the Nigeria Air Force Hospital, while the other survivor is at the Federal Medical Centre at Ebute Meta," Mr. Raji added. Mr. Raji further said that family members of the victims have been informed, adding that the aircraft was insured by SEMA Insurance company and covered by Nigeria- Re- Insurance
