Nigeria need $11m for World Cup .................................................................. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have asked for a budget of two billion Naira (more than $11 million) for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, officials have announced. General secretary of the NFF Musa Amadu dropped the hint during the house committee on sports budget defence. He said, We expect that one point two billion Naira will come from government, while the football house will want a balance of the money to ensure a smooth outing for the Super Eagles at Brazil 2014. The total expenditure has been put down to 2,084,053,765 Naira with 1,254,164,329 Naira coming from government, while the NFF have now demanded for the balance of this amount. Amadu said the approved 1.2 billion Naira would only carry the country to the Round of 16. The money will cover cost of a training camp in Houston, Texas, USA, as well as bonuses and allowances of the team. This will be Nigeria’s fifth appearance at the World Cup. They are drawn against Argentina, ran and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the first round of the 2014 World Cup, which kicks off in Brazil on June 12.
