Night all, Ill leave you with this. I recognize after 3 generations theres no way to disassemble Israel. There are good people that live there who can only identify as Israeli, and I dont for a second blame them. Maybe they cleave too hard to Israel because they are effectively the children and grandchildren of the displaced. Reminds me so much of the fanaticism many Americans extol for their own country. Displaced in their own way, always hunting for their backgrounds, (Polish, Italian, Irish, British, Russian, African-the latter the most heart breaking as they have to cleave to a continent and not a tribe or nation). But while I respect Israels right to be, it can not be at the expense of another people. The conversation we have had and are finally having as a nation about Black youths and their value in the eyes of this country needs to also happen about Israel and its value placement on Palestinians. Theres a reason Gazans are tweeting support for Ferguson.
