Nightcrawler Movie - A film about sensationalism, and its sensational. The pacing and build up is extraordinary. Jake Gyllenhaal delivers the portrayal of an antihero in the best possible way. I usually root for the antihero, but in this its nearly impossible to like him. Aside from one thing that I can respect: Get the shot. Slow and steady hands. Its all about getting the shot for him, and saying he goes to great length to get it would be an understatement. Theres a cross between two Robert De Niro roles that shine through in the character of Lou Bloom - Travis Bickle and the King of Comedy Rupert Pupkin that Im sure were inspirations for Jakes acting. He mastered the fake smile and childish laugh. Fantastic film, highly suggest it. Heres the trailer.
