REDEEMING THE TIME. Redeeming the time in Gods Word is a Command to the Person in whom is saved by Faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God has allotted to each man years of life. And when that allotted time ends, death comes. Gods Word says we cannot add any years to our life other than what He had allotted. Your health, exercise or certain foods keep you healthy maybe, but they can not add another second to your life past what God has given us to complete His work. So as Christians, we are Commanded by The Lord Jesus Christ to redeem our allotted time for Him. We were bought with a price, the precious blood of Christ Jesus. We are not our own, we are Gods. We have been called to do His will Not our own. We have been called OUT of the world to give all of our time to God. We were redeemed from the curse of the Law and from slavery to Sin and the world. Our bodies are Now the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of Christ dwells in us. We are commanded by our Lord to keep our temple clean, pure and holy. No more as children of the Most High God do we allow our temple to be defiled with and by the things of this world. When some priests of God hid their worldly gods and possessions inside the temple, God destroyed them and Israel with them because they preached holiness and had hidden gods of their own. So since the scriptures were written for our learning, we also must be holy to our Lord otherwise we too will be lost and destroyed. Jesus warned His believers that whom you serve and follow, that is your master. You cant serve God and be in or of the world, for you either hate the one and love the other Christ said. And he that defiles the temple, him will God destroy. These are ALL words of our Lord Jesus Christ. But we so easily get entangled in the world because our flesh is fighting our spirit. The flesh lusts after the things of the world and the spirit, the things of God. This is why Paul tells us to take every thought captive in our mind and if its not of God, then rebuke it and turn from it before we allow it to defile our temple and grieve the Holy Spirit. God has Always given us a way to escape every temptation that comes our way. All we have to do is Resist the devil and he will flee. So if we allow Our hearts and minds to watch useless TV, Movies, read worldly books and magazines, search ungodly web-sites, constantly hang with the world and do the things they do to occupy and redeem their time with Instead of keeping ourselves and children pure from the world, then we will reap what we sow. Our family and friends might hate us or ridicule us and so may even other Christians who enjoy worldly things, but we are to please God and not man. And if we are persecuted for righteousness sake and for the name of Christ, then Jesus said, Happy are we, for our reward is great in heaven We are not judging others for doing these things, we are just choosing not to do them ourselves. We are judging righteous judgment the things God would want us as His children to do because we love Him. But when we see a brother or sister in Christ caught up in those things God wants us to abstain from, we do it with love Gods word says, pulling them from the fire. If they refuse, argue or despise us for this then we let them alone and The Lord will deal with them the way He chooses. But we keep praying for them. But we dare not judge those in the world because God alone is judge of all mankind. We just plant the seed of the gospel and God will do the harvest. So let us examine ourselves with the Word of God and Redeem our Time as time is short and The Lord is coming. Let Him find us doing His will and His work when He comes. For His reward is with Him to give to EVERY man what they deserve. Maranatha! Fred Sturgeon BibleStudyTools
