And now featuring the female voice 1776 is something too good to miss! Auditions at Windmere Hall (behind Hills Plaza Weis Market) 454 Rolling Ridge Drive, State College, PA Thursday, January 29, 6:30-8:30p Friday, January 30, 6:30-8:30p Saturday, January 31, 12:30 to 3:30p ABOUT THE SHOW 1776, The Musical; book by Peter Stone, music by Sherman Edwards, lyrics by Sherman Edwards, and based on a concept by Sherman Edwards. Its the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence... if only our founding fathers can agree to do it! 1776 follows John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Richard Henry Lee, and Thomas Jefferson as they attempt to convince the members of the 2nd Continental Congress to vote for independence by signing the Declaration of Independence. 1776 puts a human face on the pages of history as we see the people behind the national icons: proud, frightened, uncertain, irritable, charming, often petty and ultimately noble figures determined to do the right thing for a fledgling nation. 1776 is a funny, insightful, inspiring, and compelling drama.
